Foreign Trade Development

Agro-gulf '83 Exhibition and Conference. Will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab
Emirates, 2-7 October 1983. This will be the first international agricultural
exhibition in Abu Dhabi for the gulf region. The event will be held in the Gulf Arab

Notice of Foreign Proposals Concerning Standards in Agriculture. As required of all
signatories to the GATT Standards Code, the following notifications of foreign
proposed standards-related rules have been provided for the information and comment
of interested agencies and finns. The Technical Office invites inquiries from anyone
who believes that any of the proposed regulations notified under this heading could

Sweden TBT Notification No. 82.186 The Swedish National Food Administration has
proposed a revision of the ordinance on foreign substances in food concerning the
maximum level of certain perticides and certain metabolites and breakdown products
thereof in or on fruit and vegetables as well as potatoes. The objective and
rationale for this proposed revised appendix to the ordinance is the protection of
human health. Final date for comments is 12/17/82.
