Foreign Trade Developments

Labelling requirements for gelatin in the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Kader Pohamed
Abdul Vaker, Head of the Abu Dhabi Municipality Food Control Laboratory, has informed
the American Embassy that unless gelatin sold in the UAF has a statement on the label
asserting that the contents do not contain any pork products or asserting positively
that all the contents are from beef (or lamb or poultry), it will eventually be
banned from entry into Abu Dhabi's markets.

The 8th CAPIB-USA 1982 Food Exhibit. The Eastern U.S. Agricultural and Food Export
Council, Inc. (EUSAFEC) and the Southern U.S. Trade Association (SUSTA), in
cooperation with the Foreign Agricultural Service/U.S. Department of Agriculture,
invite all United States firms in the food industry to participate in the 8th Annual
Food Exhibition to be held at the Poberto Clemente Coliseum, San Juan, Puerto Rico,
Saturday Monday, April 17-19, 1982. Products of interest to the Caribbean trade
