bhand-hooked rugs made by a resi-

Mrs, Rudolph C. Bake. a sa-

home' town, Deniao, :Tex., has
been commissioned by a union lo-
cal to make a rug fOr the Presi-
Sent's birthplace, to be opened as
a national shrine.
About three-fourths finiabed, the
large oval floor covering has a
bae kgroud in deep wipe color sur-
rouned by a wreath of roses,
morning flowers, flour de lis. tu-
lips, pansies and bluebells.
Mrs. Banke began 'ork on the

after she moved here from Texas.
"Ar soon as the Eisenhower rug
is completed, I'll start on one for,
the Lincoln home in Springtleld.

Mrs. Banke said she will get a
sample of a rug now used in one
of the Lincoln parlors to get an
idea of the colors and design she
will use.

the United States.
Thousands of pefapons pass by

them end up behind't"e bars. They
have their pictures taken for the
folks back nome.,
The cell is no fake. It Is of stand-
ard size and make and has regu-

is not in a ail. but in the front
yard of Geeoe, A. Keene, a steel
contractor who: has worked on cell
blocks in mawny prisons. He had
an extra cell an hand and installed T,
it in his yard for advertising pur.-

Located on a busy thoroughfare,
the cell sWrves as a warning to
speeding Iqtorists. An ornery-
looking wooden sheriff stands atop
the cubicle, pointing inside. A sign
says: "Speeders end here."
