THE TEMPLE SISTERHOOD of Jacksonville issues
this Year book as a means of systematizing the work
of the organization. The local organization is an integral
part of the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods, of
which Mrs. Maurice Steinfeld is president. It is also affili-
ated with the Tri-State Federation.
It is the privilege and opportunity of the Jewish Women
of Jacksonville to lend their assistance in the work of the
Temple Sisterhood, an organization based on religious en-
deavors, however, branching into civic, cultural and philan-
thropic work. It is the earnest desire of the organization
that this book be of much assistance to you in arranging
dates for the club season.

It don't take much to make men glad,
To cheer folks,, up when folks git sad,
It don't take much to make men smile -
Why, folks just want to, all the while!
Just all you need to do is reach
Your hand and find some fellah's hand
And help him back to solid land
A friendly hand, a kindly touch,
That's all they need-it don't take much.
-Douglas Malloch

Everytime you -send a Uniongram, you make folks glad,
you help them smile. Now figure it out yourself, isn't that
worth while?
Remember, also, you add twenty cents to the Hebrew
Union College Scholarship and Dormitory Maintenance
Fund. Doesn't it mean something to you, to "reach out and
find some fellah's hand and help him back to, solid land?'"
Let's make that our Uniongram Slogan this year and

(Tune of Maryland, My Maryland)

Within the heart, in yours and mine
There is a spark of love divine;
Which nurtured well will surely thrive
And genuine pleasure you'll derive.
O let us then do all we can
To help our friends and fellowmen;
Let's do our work and none but good
And boost our local Sisterhood.

Our Sisterhood has much work planned
Will you not lend a helping hand?
To teach the youth traditions old
To bring him back into the fold.
To Glorify the home so dear
To make our doctrines very clear,
Now can you doubt that this is good?
It is the work of our Sisterhood.

This band of women tried and true
Has fired our souls with courage new.
They need us all their end to gain
Lest all their lopes may prove in vain.
This noble task' they undertake
A living thing our Religion to make.
Let's help the cause for it is good
O Father! Bless our Sisterhood.

-Etta Berman
