Eau Giallie, Fla.

Dear ]Mrs. H~urston:

The reason' for the long delay was occasioned by the fact
Utat politics have been playing an important part in The Courier for
the past three weeks, as you can well imagine. WIe are happy that it
is all over and that the candidates we~ supported won.

Now that this has been accomplished, we are- certainly
anxious to get back into the Riguby Nb0011lum case..W f~r~eel that you
have done some research and that you are in position to give us a
couple of build-up stories preceding the trial. I feel that the
first shock has worn off the community where the crime was com-
mcitted and that lawyers for both the prosecution and the defense
might have re-arranged ~their strategy. I will be looking for this
story in our off-ice Saturday morning.

However, of more importance is your appraisal of the
entire Fllorida situation and the impact The Courier can make on
florida readers. A~s you know, we have a circulation of. around
35,000 in the state but we feel that this figure could be upped to
at least 5'0,000. Please feel free to express yourself as you see
the picture in its overall pattern without regard to any individuals
upnwoete o ih strange of influence a~nd circulation in this state ard we intend to
just this. Individuals as such are relatively unimportant in lieu
of the overall: project. You may rest assured that the information
:you give me will. be treated with the strictest confidence.

Sincerely yours,

YVilliam G. Nunn,
Managing Editor.
