Dear Zora Neale:

I never would have thought I would tJl~~ until I was all

dressed and ready to go somewhere, to have tg cancel it at the last

minute. And both my husband and I felt badly about it.

But nor son was visiting us, and he has been a patient in Bay

Pines for some time and had to go back about 5 p~m. They- have been
treating him for nerves over there and he seemed so worried for us to

get out on the highway and worried more as we got ready to go. So finally,
I told him I would wait and go some other day. Wrei had gone to Daytona
Saturday and I tried to phone you Sunday morning-to see if it would be

Zall right for us to go by on our way home, but I couldn't contact you

by telephone, Wie would have gone by any way hoping that you would be at
home, but a little granddaughter who had been visiting in Daytona wanted
to be dropped off at her home in Goldenrod, so we came around by way of
Orlando.

I would never have given in to anyo a well, for as I always
