Your letter of the llth a-dressed to
Atlanta, care of the Henry Grady H tel, reached
me last night. I did. not receive it when in Atlanta.
Regarding the drainage of the Everglades.
I think it is high time that a rangements should be
made to make united opposition to allowing the
political speculative tunch p .ss a law which would
penalize the entire state in order to make it possible
for sone speculators to rnak a profit on the drainage
bonds which they now hold, a well as the reclaimed
land vhich they imagined vws so valuable.
*The majority o the Representatives and
Senators who go to Tella' assee are not -Tosted on what
should be done in coruie tion with this Everglades
reclamation scheme, and are influenced more by what
somebody tells them th n by -what they actually know,
and off-hand they all eel that something should be

sentatives from Semi ole County, but as they are liht
weights there is no aellin, what they are liable to do
when they get to Ta rahassee.
