SANFORD, FLORIDA
February 15, 1927.

Mr. J. C. Chase,
Orlando, Fla.

Dear Josh:

I am returning Mr. Wm. Moore Angas' letters
of the 9th and llth, and assume that you sent him the
article that Mr. Ranson wrote concerning the Everglades,
and that his comments on that matter were made after
reading same.

My own personal opinion is that there should
be some sort of an organization worked out which would
oppose any legislation looking towards using funds of
the Florida Treasury for the furtherance of this drain-
age proposition, which has been a failure to date and
will always be a failure.

If the people in the nearby territory are
able to stand the tax, that is up to them, but the
state should not be expected to under-write any more
drainage bonds, as they will certainly have to pay them.

Yours very truly,

30C:HMR.
