Mr. A. S. Mann,

Gaineavlle, Fla. A

Dear Sir:-

I failed this morning to give you the terms: We

could make Crystal River offe third cash and the balance on good

easy terms at 6 % interest. We owe about $250,000.00 on the

Carrabelle proposition and we would want $200,000.00 oash, the

parties to assume the balance due on the lands maturing during

the years 1907 and 1908, and the balance of the purchase price

could be paid in 1, 2, and 3 years at 6 % interest.

Jacksonville, Fla.
ear Sir:-
Your esteemed favor of the 18th instant to hand and in
j .-trepl: I have to apologize for not having answered you before, but I
have been absent from home, hence this delay. .
Regarding the turpentine proposition I wish to say that j
you have these two propositions, viz., the Crystal River proposition ,
N ,^.ndi the Carrabelle proposition, somewhat ~onfused. There is no turpen-
"Bbne privileges on the Crystal River proposition, we having only a
Ssaw mill proposition there, but we have at Carrabelle, in Jefferson,
Franklin, Liberty and Wakulla Counties, a fine property, if anything .<
even more desirable than the Crystal River property, for the reason
we own in fee simple there about 132,OCO acres of land and on this
lani we estimate the turpentine privileges alone to be worth $250000..
leaving the saw mill and. railroad only $750,000.00, as we ask-te _e
same for this proposition as we do for the Cr:stal River proposition,
J except that there is no commission to be deducted on the Carrabelle
t proposition. We want one million dollars for this property NET to us. V
It is estimated to cut from 375 to 400 million feet and we have 5 still s
Lnow on this property in operation. Under a contract we have in oper-
/ action this year we get 2/5ths of the net profit realized on all the
Spirits and Rosin made on it. The partlea we have contracted with are
'^to pay all exp-nses of operating, we paying for the Spirit barrels and
one half of the Rosin barrels, and turnish:in the timb-r, til:'s and.
J mules. Now we estimate that if this contract was to continue in
force until all the turpentine privileges are worked up on the proper-
ty that at the present prices of Spirits and Rosin it would give us 1,.,
at least a half million dollars.
I am senlinJ you today under separate cover blue print
showing. the location oi' the:3e lands and am enclosing herewith schedule 4
of the saw mill proposition andi the turpentine proposition, the
Carrabelle DIaval Socres Company, which is practically the same as the
R. J. & B. F. Camp LT.umber Company, of Carrabelle, Fla., and which would
be included in this proposition, at price of $1,000,000.00.
B. F. C.----h Yours respectfully, N

Schedule of Saw Mill Proposition of
R. J. & B. F. Camp Lbr. Co.
at Carrabelle, Fla.

30 acres of land in the Town of Carrabelle, with 1000 feet water front,
on which is located one 50,000 capacity Saw Mill, complete and in first
class condition.

1 Dry Kiln

1 Commissary Building and all necessary quarters for employees

I Tug Boat and 2 Barges

36 head of Mules with Carts and Harness for same

4j miles of 30 pound Steel Rail. 2- miles of leased Rail, This 7
miles of Railroad extends from the G. F. & A. R.R. into the center of
their timber holdings .

In addition to this logging arrangement they have the Oohlooknee River
and New River, navigable for 100 miles, to draw a supply of logs from.
The 7 miles of road connects with the G. F. & A., over which they have
a satisfactory traffic arrangement.

One of the special advantages of this location is that the lumber is
worth as much for Export purposes on skids at mill as on cars at any
port on the Atlantic or Gulf, a direct saving in freight of.from
$2.50 to 45.0 per thousand feet over all interior points.

The timber holdings consist of 1328000 acr6s of land in fee simple and
20,000 acres of leased land leased for 20 years, This property has
been estimated by thoroughly competent estimators to cut 400 million
feet of the very finest quality of Heart Yellow Pine.

This is considered one of the best Saw Mill locations in the State of
Florida. The object of the owners in selling is that they have more
business than the:; can possibly attend to, and do justice to the
Carrabelle interests.
