EXECUTIVE ORDER

AL Code of FIair Compllet~ition for the Graphic Arts Industries
and a Code of Fair Completition for the Daily Newspaper Publish-
ing Business having been approved respectively in Exzecutive Orders
dated F'ebruary 17, 1934, andl certain provisions in the two Codes
being substantially idimtical in phraseology and alike in effect and
meaning, to-wit, 1Section 17 (b) of Article I of the Code of Fair
Competition for the Graphic Arts Industries and Article VII
of the Code of Fair Competition for the D~aily Newspaperr Pub-
lishing Business, and Sect ion 19 (b) of Atrticle II of the Code of
Faiir Competition for the Graphlic Arts Indrustr~ies and Section 1 (a),
(b) and (c) of Ac~rticle V of the Code of Fair Comnpetition for the
Daily Newcpspaper ]Pub~lisjhing Bu~siness, and whereas the conditions
of approval of said sections and/or articles in the tw7po Codes arei
d7i ffelrent,
Now, therefore, I, Fran-klin. D. Roosevelt, President of the United
States, pursuanrt to the authority vestedl in. me by Tle I of the
National I~ndustrial Recovery Act, approved June 16, 1933, and
otherwise, -to bring about umiformity and for other purposes, do
hereby modify and amend my said orders of approval of said Code
of Fair Competition for the iGraphic Arts Industries a~nd said C~ode
of 1Fair Compectit~ion for the D~ailyV Newspaper Publishing Business,
respectively, as follows:
1. The G~over~nment members of the Code Authority of the
Graphic Arts Industries shall give particular attention to the pro-
visions authtorizingr miinors to sell newspapers and periodicals and to
deliver newspapers, periodicals and advertising newspapers~. They
shall report t~o the President not later than sixty days hlence.

2. My comment with respect to Article VII of the Code of Fair
Competition for t~he Daily Newfspaper Publishing Business applies
also to Section 17 (b) of Article I of the Code of F'air Competition
for t~he Graphic Arts Iridustries, but said Article VII of the Code
of Fair Comlpetition for t~he Daily Newvspa.per Publishing Business
and said Section 17 (b) of Article I of the Code of Fair Competition
for the Gra ph ic Arts Indlustries are nevertheless respectively
approved as submittedl and without modification, condition or
qualification.
