AMENSD1\IENT TO CODE OF FA~LIR COMPETITION FOR
THE PALCKrIAGE MEDICINE INDUSTRY

Delete Section 3 of Article VrI and renumber~p~ the following see-
tions of said article accordingly.
Delete Pnrnugroph~ (g) of Sec~tin,! 7 of Article VI and reletter the
following paragraphs accordlingly.
Delete Paragraph (f) of Section 7 of Article VTI and .substitulte

competition establishedt~t h~Ielreunr and to effectuate thne policy of the
ArIct;, the Code Authority is authorized:
" ~(a) To inlcur such reasonable obligations as are necessary and
pr'oper for the forlegoing purposes,~P~ and to meet such1 obligations out
of fundsa wFhich may be praised -------as hereinafter provided and which
.shall be held: in trust for the purpose of the Code;
(b) To submit to the Adm~inist~torto for his approval, subject to
such notice and opportunity to be heard as het may deemI1 necessary
(1) an itemized budget of its estimaltedl expenses for the foregoing
Purposes, and (2) an equitable basis upon which the funds neces-
isary to support such budget shall be contributed by mlemlberss of
the Industry;
(c) After such budget and basis of co~ntr~ib.utionl have been ap-
proved by the Admrinistrator, to determrinre andl ob~tain equitable
contribution as above set forth by all members of the Industry, and
t:o that, end, if necessary, to institute legal proceedings therel~for in
ils own namlle.
2. Each member of the Ind~ustry shall pay hiis or its equitalble
contribution to the expenses of the maiinteinaice of the Code A~u-
thority, determined ass hereinabove provided, and subject to rules
and regulations pertaining$ thtereto issued by the Adoministrator.
Only members of the Industry complying with the Code and con-
t~ribruting to the expenses~ of its administration as hereinlabove\ pro-
videdi. unless duly eXemll~pted from maknlingr such contributions, shall
be entitled to pnr~ticipate in the selection. of mllllembes of thie Code
Authority or to receive the benefits of any of its voluntary~ activi-
ties or to make use of anly emlblelm or insignia of thre Naltional~l Re-
Scovery Ad~.m i ist ra;~t ion .
3. Thle Code Authorityr shall neither incur nor pay any obliga-
tion substantially in excessi of the amlount thereof as estimantedl in
its alpprovedtzr budget, and shall in no event exceed the total amount
cont~ainled in the approved buldget, excep~t. upon approv~l1 of the
A~dministr~ator; and no subsequent budget shall contain anly de~-
ficienc~y item~ for expenditures in excess of prior budget estimates
except those which the Administrator shall have so approved.
