During the week of October 15-19, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's
Agricultural Marketing Service announced 6 commodity purchases totaling
15,861,800 pounds at a cost of $11,101,764.
The purchases were: fresh frozen cut-up chicken, bulk pack chicken,
chicken thighs and drumsticks; frozen ground beef patties, canned pork; dry
edible beans (includes pea, pinto, baby lima, small red and great northern).
All purchases were for school lunch and other domestic feeding programs
with the bulk going to the school lunch program.
Offers were invited f r-frozen cut-up chicken, bulk pack chicken;
chicken thighs and d sticks. f en ground beef patties, canned pork;
apricots, clingstone ac es, fruit rc tail, pineapple, pineapple juice,
orange juice, tomat 3jce vegetar \ means, green beans, peas, tomatoes,
pumpkin, dry edible e ns, (rn syrup i nd, dehydrated potatoes, and dried
prunes. The veget +i n bearn green ans, and dry edible beans will be
purchased from small ~iness ferms.
