During the week of August 20-24, the
Agricultural Marketing Service announced
6,935,856 pounds at a cost of $6,369,000.

U.S. Department of Agriculture's
six commodity purchases totaling


The purchases were: dried egg mix, fresh frozen cut-up chicken, bulk pack
chicken, thighs and drumsticks; frozen ground beef patties, and canned pink
salmon.

All purchases were for school lunch and other domestic feeding programs
with the bulk going to the school lunch program.

Offers were invited for: dried egg mix, fresh frozen cut-up chicken, bulk
pack chicken, thighs and drumsticks; frozen ground beef patties, canned pink
salmon; and dried figs and fig paste. The fig program is a pilot purchase.
The canned pink salmon program is nearing completion.
