2Sour:e Bureau of the Census report EH 546, U.S. Exports.
3These values were derived by use of adjustment factors to exclude freight, insurance, and other charges incurred in moving goods to the port ol export.
This adjustment Is made to convert the values to an approximation of the producers' value of exported goods. Current adjustment factor are based on data
for 1981 which are published in Origlr. Eof Exp.rtor a .anjufctl.edr Frol-.cts liM'A4I-5. appendli B. Comparable adjustment factors for earlier years are
based on similar factors developed lor 19q' anid 1'2. The current adju:rmer. factor ror this report is 0.9731.

5The value includes c.l.f. (cost. Insurance. and Irviehi at tr-e ri r6t port o eiri, r n the United States plus U.S. import duties and other charges to
the import point.
6Apparent consumption is derived by subtracting exports from the total of net shipments plus imports.
7Comparabillcy of output, export, and import classifications for ingot and billet assume that bloom, sheet bar, and alab are reported as ingot or billet
in the output numbers. Figures for imports of ingot and billet also include powder, crystal, and similar forms which are excluded from the output and export
