Titanium Mill Products,

Ingot, and Castings

DECEMBER 1981
ITA-991(811 12
Issued April 1982

This report contains figures for production, receipts, and net
shipments of titanium mill products and castings for January
through December 1981. Publication of the series was sus-
pended following the February 1981 report to permit a thorough
review of the reporting practices of all manufacturers participat-
ing in the survey. Figures for titanium ingot continue to be
withheld pending completion of the review or reports filed by
ingot producers.
The statistics in this report are based on a survey of all
known producers of titanium ingot, mill products, and castings.
Estimates are included for companies whose reports were not
received in time for tabulation. A complete description of the
survey methodology and related information may be found in
the 1980 annual summary report for this series, ITA-991 (80)-13,
issued April 1981.

'Net shipments, total, is the sum of mill products shipment plus mill products consued in the manufacture of fabricated products, less total receipts. Net
shipments for each mill product category also includes the coasumpt on of mill products In that category in the manufacture of other mill products. irtail does
not add to total because of this difference In definition.

export. This adjustment Is made to convert the values to an approximation of the producers' value of exported goods. Current adjustment factors
are based on data for 1976 which are published in Origin of sports of OaLnufactrrd Product., MC77(SR)-12, appendix B. Comparable adjustment factor
for earlier years are based on similar factors deelopre for 19'1 and I72. rn 1 crrrenI adjustment factor for this report is 0.9731.
