Abstract: Synopsis: ‘Qui trop embrase mal éteint’ is the story of a young man who enlists in the dictatorial government militia of his country to avenge his father who was brutally assassinated. However he soon became himself a violent tonton macoute who terrorizes the population. Will the love of beautiful MarlinePoéton, an indirect victim of his gratuitous cruelty, be enough to help him get back to his original mission? The Author: Nicolas (Nick) André, MA in French Linguistics, is currently a visiting Haitian Creole Instructor at Florida International University where he teaches beginning and advanced intermediate courses at the Department of Modern Languages. He has previously served as a research assistant at Indiana University (2001, 2002, and 2005), and has taught Haitian Creole at IU from 2006 to 2009. He served as assistant editor of the Haitian Creole-English Bilingual Dictionary published by Indiana University. Other publications in which André has collaborated include: Pen nan boutèy diven nan panyen banbou, liv I & II (2002) ( Fondasyon Konesans ak Libète), Dwa moun pou tout moun” (2008: OAS/UN International Civilian Mission) , and Bay mo yo lapawòl” (2008: OAS/UN International Civilian Mission)
