JOHN
REED

Horace Gregory.

Dear Gregory:

Perhaps you have heard that the John Reed Club has
been evicted from its quarters for many reasons, including the
pressure of the priest upon the Catholic landlord. One of the
by-products of this event is the forced postponement of the symposium
on poetry next Sunday. in which you expressed your willingness to
participate. We are sharing quarters temporarily with the National
Student League at their new rooms, 583 Sixth Avenue, but the N.S.L. needs
the use of the hall on Sundays which is the day on which they can best
contact with the students. We hope to be able to arrange for this
symposium some evening, in the near future, and we certainly hope
that we can count on you to participate at that time.

Cordially yours,

Bernhard J. Stern
Chairman, Educational Committee
