oontinued to publish the UNION as a tri-weekly, also published a weeky editi.o J. 8.
Adams as editor the latter part of 1873 the paper was sold to C. F. Imrbwy & CompIay,
J. s, Adams eoontiuag as editor tatil Jranuay 19, 1874 when we K, Sawr asummad ooa-
trol of the paper.

In 1878 the daily PLORIU UION advrtied soioulation of 1.000 with subscription
price of $10.00 a year.

From its establissahnt inrtl after the elotion of 1876 when the Demowts gained
ooatrol of the state, the PLOFIDRA UION never changed frae a Republiom paper*

Za 1876 ownership passed to Stevens Brothers who continue it as a weekly for
a unaber of months. Rev. H. B. MOaOllum and w. w. Douglas purhuased he FLORIDA MION
fro Stevens Brothers in 1877 avd issued the publication as a strong Demooratie afternoon
daily. However, in the latter part of 18790 publication hour was changed to amraiag.

W. W. Douglas sold his interest In the eerly part of 1879 uad H. b. MuCallum,
who conducstd the publiation tntil early part of 1881 3wh he sold the proprt to Jesse,
Varnu Conpe~sy owners of the DILY TIMBS. The two papers were ooabiae aS th
