Mr. Lester Varn
P. O. Box 924
Jacksonville 1, Florida

Dear Lester:

Thank you for your generous letter of the
28th.

Confidentially, I am considering the problem
but I am as yet far from a conclusion. I am not happy
with the idea of revising my way of living and getting
back in the Washington turmoil. I have a dislike of hotel
and restaurant life and an even keener dislike of some of
the other things which go along with Congressional existence.

Nevertheless, I am going to give the matter some
thought for the next few days and reach a definite decision.
If I conclude to do something. about it, you will certainly hear
from me.

Sincerely,

Millard F. Caldwell
