DR. MEREDITH MALLORY
F.A.C. P.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA

July 23, 1949

Hon. Millard F. Caldwell
Tallahassee, Florida

Dear Mr. Caldwell:

As one interested in the welfare of the State of Florida and of
the country as a whole I would like to urge you to offer your-
self as a candidate for senator from this state next year. I
feel that it is very imperative that someone represent Florida
who really represents the greater majority of the people. This
nation did not become great by such foolishness as is emanating
from Washington today. The economy of our country is at stake and
if we are to survive our representatives must be interested in
the welfare of all the people and not merely the welfare of those
who might vote for them.

It is my opinion that you are the one man who can defeat t r
Pepper and give us the representation that the State /lorida
deserves. I sincerely hope that you will give this considera-
tion and do not decline this duty without very car ul thought,

Very s, ly yours,

Mallory
