RUANDA
1895

La grande epid6mie de Lea traditions des Banyarwanda relatent que le court regne
"tRULENGE"(Tuberculose ?) de MIBAMBWE IV fut assombri par une epidemie designee sous le
nom do Urulenge consumptionn). II semble bien qu'il slagisse
d'une forme particulierement virulente et contagieuse de tuber-
culose, et que les ravages de 1'infection furent surtout accentues
dans les provinces baignees par le lac Kivu. Des indigenes mou-
raient dl'puisement, apres de longs mois de maladie. Celle-ci
d'apres leurs dires n'a plus jamais reparu par la suite, au moins
0 sous la meme forme.
