MEMORANDUM

TO: Marshall M. Criser, Jr., President

FROM: F. Blair Reeves, Professor

SUBJECT: Floyd Hall

During the Spring semester, 1985, graduate students specializing in architectural
preservation prepared measured drawings of Floyd Hall as part of their regular
class work. Reduced copies of these drawings are attached to this memorandum
for your pleasure. The students also prepared a history of the building and
maintenance assays, copies of which we will send to you after their editing.
As part of work during the Fall semester, the same students will prepare different
design solutions adopting Floyd Hall to new functions. These projects will be-
due mid-October, with presentations scheduled to accommodate your participation
if your duties will permit. Perhaps they can be featured as part of the 1985
Homecoming exhibition. We think these projects will further stimulate interest
in the preservation of Floyd Hall and perhaps insure its vital role in campus
life.
