AN ORDINANCE to amend "The Customs
Duties Ordinance, 1895" and temporarily
to reduce the Import Duty on Rum.

W HEREAS it has been deemed expedient in view Preamble.
of the fact that but a limited quantity of rum is at
present being manufactured in the Colony of St. Vincent

con-enlt of the Legislative Council of Saint Vincent as
follows :-

Ordinance, 1893" or any Ordin.ince amending or sub-
stituted for the same.

2. Notwithitanding anything e.)ntained in '-The
Cum,tonis Duties Ordin:liaie' 1893" or in any Ordi Jance
amending ,or repealing the same there shall b- rised
levied collected and p.id unto His Majesty for th'e Public
uses of the Colony upon-a every gallon of ri:-n which
mav have be3n or m i~v .Ii inip)r I into the Colony
between the Ist. of Apr'il 1913 and the l31st May 1.913,
both dates inclusive, the amount of four shilling,' (4/-)
per proof gallon according to Sykei. Hydrometer.

3. If in the opinion of the G-overnor in Council the
quanLtity of locally imiallifacti're] rumi again becomr'n. at
any time insufficient for the needs of the Colony,
it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council by
Order-in-Council from time to tim0W to revive the
operation of this Ordinance for such period of timn as
may be deemed expedient. and to suspend the ;.mi3
again and any Order-in-Council made under the powers
conferred by this Section shall be published in the
Government Gazette.
