AN ORDINANCE to amend the Agricultural Credit
Societies Ordinance, 1915.


[ 19th March, 1917.


BE it enacted by the Governor, with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Council of Saint Lucia,
as follows :-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Agricul-
tural Credit Societies Ordinance, Amendment Ordin-
ance, 1917, and shall be read and construed as one
with the Agricultural Credit Societies Ordinance,
No. 14 of 1915, (1916 Revision, No. 10) hereinafter
called the principal Ordinance.

2. Section eight of the principal Ordinance is
amended by the addition of the following subsection
thereto-
"The number of members of a society may,
however, in special cases, be increased to such
number as the Governor in Council may de em
advisable."

3. The governorr in Council may also make regu-
lations and forms for regulating and controlling the
operations of Agricultural Credit Societies for the
co-operative purchase, curing, shipping and sale of
agricultural produce and the co-operative purchase,
distribution and use of manures, and agricultural
implements as well as for regulating and controlling
such other matters, including the purchase and use
of such other things as the Governor in Council may
deem incidental to Agriculture and considers should
be regulated in the interest, and for the more efficient
working of Agricultural Credit Societies

1917.
