AN ORDINANCE to amend the Law relating to Pensions to
Clerks in the Governor's Office.
[ 26th September, 1914. ]

BE it enacted by the Governor, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council of Saint Lucia, as follows:-

Pensions Ordinance, 1914.


Short title.


1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Pensions Ordinance,
1914, and shall be construed as one with the Pensions Ordinance,
1902, and that Ordinance and this Ordinance may be cited
together as the Pensions Ordinances, 1902 and 1914.


Pensions to clerks 2. (1) Clerks in the Office of the Governor of the Windward
in the governor's Islands, past, present and future, shall be deemed to have been
Office in respect of
their full salaries, and to be persons who have been in the public service of this
Colony and to have held and to hold pensionable offices within
the meaning of the Pensions Ordinance, 1902, and shall be
eligible for pension under the said Ordinance not only in
respect of salary paid from the funds of this Colony, but also
in respect of the proper proportion of salary paid from
Imperial Funds:
Provided that, as regards past clerks, this Ordinance shall not
apply to any person who is not in His Majesty's Service at
the time of its passing.
.(2) For the purposes of this section, the expression "proper
proportion" means the proportion fixed by the Secretary of
State for the Colonies as the proportion of such expenses as are
common to all the Windward Islands proper to be borne by the
Colony of Saint Lucia and in force at the time when any such
pension is first granted.
