My dear Mr.Laird:--

I am pleased to report two waysin which our proposition,whether in the Upper
Gladesorthe Lower,though strong before, can be immensely strengthened,--

1--A most responsible and trustworthy business man whom I have long known,
assures me he can provide us with a cashhome market for al ]ordinary agri-
cultural produce our settlement can haul,in the rough,to hisplant,which he
will locate,at hisowncrst,almost anywhere we want* In 1916,he established
such a cash,home market in another Florida community,and has maintained it
ever since,to the immense advantage of all concerned.

2--At the invitation ofa long-time,highly competent electrician,and radio
man-a good friend ofnine--I accompanied him last night to Miami,and wit-
nessed the sendingout oftalks, song, instrumental music, etc,to 200,000 people
scattered over the east halfof the United States,and part of Canadaland was
invited to prepare and send out an Everglades talk soon over the same terri-
tory. I witnessed Hollywood send out a goodly lot of well-prepared, diplo-
matically served advertising during much of the evening to the same vast audi-
once*

Now,through the cooperation ofthis same wireless"friend ofmine,we cam ar-
range, for a reasonable cost,to utilize, fully, thisprodi gously effective
form of advertising in promoting the propositions I have laid before you.
The two above points easily double the vaue of either proposition.

Mr.Connor,of the Pine Island country,ciled on Saturdy to tell me "a number of
fine cars have been running recently past" hisplace to 'ine Island. Be does
not know their errand,but he apprehends isbodes no good-to us.

Mr Ohas.G.Rodes,of this city,a highly responsible business man,told me yes-
terday he had been in Melbourne. While there he heard two men very earnestly
talking about"Pine Island." He got into conversion with them,and told them
he had recently la Sees. 19 4nd 30 to Bright and Curtiss. ( I know this.
He sold them at 130 per acre.) about 6 mos. ago.)

These men asked Roges whAtthesetwo sections are worth. Ke replied that they
were easily worth 100.00 per acre. They replied that the.land had been
offered to them at $150 per acre* ( the price at which Mr Bright receAtly
offered it to me')

Theseman were intensely titPnam y interested,andaalost pursued Mr.Rodes for
further information reading the landsthere.

Now ifthey should discover that the Bryan portion--more desirable than the
Briit portion--gan be had at A50 per acrewhat migit hpyen?

. Mr.Bryan is allowing a very brief time in which to give him an answer.

week, I am sending you herewith amap showing some of our lands

that we are now offering for sale.

You spoke of a 10,000 acre tract that can be used now.

I have marked fifteen sections in township 44, range 37 and put our

price on each in red for ;our information.

I have also marked about 5,000 acres in 44, 36 for your

information. This gives you 15,000 acres priced that is in such

shape that it can be used now.

I am also enclosing a map showing all of our holding s.

If your parties are interested in a large tract, or if they want

lands that are not so well developed, I will be glad to uote you

prices on other lands that we own.

Our terms on the above prices are one fourth_.ash and the

balance in one, two and three years at six oer cent. All prices

)uoted above carry a commission of ten per cent.
