327 S.Central Park Blvd., Chicago, Ill.,

March 6th, 1923.

Mr. Thos. E. Will,
Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Dear Mr. Will:

As it had been some time since I heard from you,
I thought it would not be amiss to write you a few lines at
this tile as to what the prospects are now for disposing of
Tract 42. One would think that a price of $4Q0.00 for the
ten acres net to me ought to mov._-t. I am horinn that by
this time conditions will have improved in the 'Glades to
attract buyers and that I may hear from you shortly that
you have been able to sell the wholeten acres. The way
it lays now, the South of Tract 42 is covered by deed
being held in escroww" by Fort Lauderdale Bank and the
other I will handle in like manner just as soon as you
can find a buyer for them.

I wish so much to sell this ten acres, as I
need the cash, and I certainly will appreciate your dioposinv
of them as soon as possible. In case you find a cash buyer
for them who is willing to pay anyways near $400.00, I will
be glad if you would refer his offer for my coisd'deration
before the offer is refused, as I am very anxious to sell out.

Thanking you for your continued interest in the
matter, and hoping to hear from you soon, I am,

Sincerely yours,

- -

Yours truly-,-

S.R. Copper.

SOkeelanta, Ulh. g7. 1923.
Thomas E. Will,

Mr. T'hos. E. Will,
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dear Sir:

Answering your letter of the 13th
instant, we are inclosing two sheets, one showing
assessed valuations and taxes levied, and the other
showing increase in population since 1896. Our
present number of permanent year round residents is
about 51,000.

We have no information on the
estimated wealth of the inhabitants here nor increase
in land and lot values. ,e believe the valuations
will give you a very accurate idea of what these are,
sufficient to say that real estate has been increas-
ing rapidly for the past six years. It is not a boom,
but a steady, gradual increase, and is still keeping
the pace.

For further information on real es-
tate values, you might write to ear. B. B. Tatum, who
is a director of this organization and president of
the iiami Realty Board. His address is 150 E. Flagler
St.

If we can be of any further service to
you, please do not hesitate to call upon us.

Yours very truly,

I 2', B* "1 Oing on,
G/IMB :aa Faging J etary.

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
FOREST SERVICE

ADDRESS REPLY TO
THE FORESTER
AND REFER TO WASHINGTON

p March 21, 1923.
Miscellaneous

Dr. Thomas SB Will,
Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida.

Dear Dr. Will:

Please pardon delay in replying to your letter of

March 13. I have been too badly snowed under to be able

to write you before, but it was a pleasure to hear from

you again.

The bag of scrub palmetto, as well as the sample

of saw grass emolosed with your letter, is on its way to

the Forest Products Laboratory which I am sure will be very

glad to look into the possible utilization of this material.

I am sending a copy of your letter also to the Laboratory,

so that they may be able to write you directly whatever

they can tell you in answer to your questions.

Very sincerely yours,

Assistant Forester.

Mr. Thos, E. Will,

Okeelanta, Fla.

Dear Sir:-

I find that you are still due the Trustees

$7,265.72, on the land you purchased in your entry

No. 16,449, April 18, 1914, which is long past due.

Captain Lewis informs me that the last interest

payment received of you was December 13, 1921.

The Trustees are anxious to close up all these

long standing matters as they wish the money to meet their

obligations, and I shall be pleased to hear from you in

regard to this matter at an early date. I do not think

They wish to embarrass you, but are anxious to have the

matter settled in some way as soon as possible, as above

state d.
Yours very truly,

commissioner.

G/H.
