State of Florida and that State's great resources are behind the drainage of the EvergladeB when drained they will be the GARDEN SPOT OF THE WORLD and famous the world over, and those fortunate enough to buy now, while the price is, comparatively speaking, on the ground floor, will, indeed, take pride in their foresight and judgment. The national I might almoBt say international reputation of one of the greatest drainage engineers is behind this great reclamation project. Please investigate it. Above ALL things get some of it NOW and reap the benefit of near-future values. In my opinion, you cannot invest your money to better advantage anywhere else in the country.
If you cannot work the land yourself, we can show you how it can be worked for you.
Make up a party, go down to the Everglades and see this wonderful country for yourself. Excursions run out of Washington twice a month. 5Tou will return glad you went, glad you bought.
Coma to one of our stereopticon lectures notice enclosed. Make up a party among your friends and spend a pleasant, highly profitable evening as our guests, Come and see our soil exhibits, tropical fruits and plants take a sample of our soil exhibit away with you, have it analyzed and prove to your own satisfaction just wbai. it is and will do. We show you this wonderful country with the aid of magnificently colored slides, some of which were made from photographs taken by an employe in the Government Printing Office. All these things will convinoe you that HERE is your opportunity the one you have been looking for.
Ladies are particularly welcome at our lectures. We oan refer them to one of their number in the Forest Service, who returned from a visit to the Everglades enthusiastic over her purohase of twenty acres. She is urging her friends to buy.
We can help you to pay for your land oome and let us explain how we can do this. .

Dr. Thos E. Will.,

Dear DrWill:-
Your encouraging letter, written from Okeelanta has been received. Thanks for the information it contained. This is the. first re^l practical news I have had from that section in eighteen months.
It is very good to know that conditions are much improved and, that after the years you have devote'd to pioneering, at last you are coming into your own.
Some how I have always had faith in the 'Glades, knowing at the same time it would take considerable time, money and effort to work it out, hut almost any enterprise, given the -proper management, with the demand to t^ike care of it, hard consistent
work and honesty, will work out its salvation.
I noticed quite a jump in my tares this year and I wondered what ocassionei. it, but since I understand the work that is going on, I can figure why the increase and am more than willing to pay it.
The hog question comes up in my life everydaythat is ,' not the question, but the thought. I wish it were possible for us to pet, together on some kind of a deal whereby we could get about L_men interested in the proposition to the extent of about $300'. per man aggregating $6000, which, on the face of it, looks like sufficient capital to make a pretty good showing. T, for one, herebysubscribe for $500. which can be made payable any time necessary. This would be with the understanding that, you would supervise the proposition, and work out a way in which all parties concerned could share in the final results.
If my finances permitted I'd be quite willing to back it_alone. bat with the addition of "a young lady to my fa rally arid heavily interested in this concern, forbids my obligating myself to any considerable extent-' especially so, since I am indebted to my Bank.
I'd be glad to hno.v what you think of this, whether it can be done, your ideas as to how and anything else pertaining to it.
Might arrange for you and I to try it in a

I am offering Everglades lands to you b9oause I BELIEVE IN IT, because I BSLISV3 that, while it ia now selling at $50, $80, and $30 an acre in ten-acre traots on easy monthly payments, it will be but a short time until it will be worth $500 an acre. The reputation of the great State of Florida and that State's great resources are behind the drainage of the Everglades when drained they will be the GARDEN SPOT OF THE WORLD and famous the world over, and those fortunate enough to buy now, while the price is, comparatively speaking, on the ground floor, will, indeed, take pride in their foresight and judgment. The national I might almost say international reputation of one of the greatest drainage engineers is behind this great reclamation project. Please investigate it. Above ALL thing* get some of it NOW and reap the benefit of near-future values. In my opinion, you cannot invest your money to better advantage anywhere else in the country.
If you cannot work the land yourself, we can show you hew it can be worked for you.

Belays hajff* occurred,th~t h Id me back. 'Inte, tr;*ctor outfit that plowed up your 9 acr*s ao well,ig permanently out of commission. My own tractor also broke down. I tried HARD to*hire plowing dona, but in vairuin consequence,I ^ent with my operator to Beach, bought a NSJW TRACTOR AND DISC PLOW,returned and put our own turning plow into oommisaion, and we are now to-day *xp.^oting to finish plowing and planting your 6 acres. The next job is Tract 41.
I have dome nothing with MY OWN plowing and planting till I cowld g*t your full Job done. Otherwise,I thought it probable '*G(I should return all your money on Tract 41. Now I thirik that is" unnecessary.
Mr. G. was anxious ,1 understand, rn tae" /INTiSR planting of the dasheens. Such* planting is inadvia-ibl*. We had severe cold very 1-vte. That wotfLd h-v killed down the growth, and the early olanting would hav don-- little if any good. I pl^n to pant from 10 acres up to dasheena myself,.and have not yet planted one hill. Have plan^ all made though for rushUng Job.
Again,I hav had more orders for da she ens. that I could fill. First, mederat e ord^r^jthen for i 30,000 Ib.car then for theraiaing of tjis to a 50,000-lb.carjthen for tlx* addition of 30 aacka or more,to this.

Thos E. Will Port Lauderdale, Florida.
Dear Friend Wills;
How much-am I offered for Lot 27 ?
While the lots may he worth 700,oo each, yet I I do not expect to be able to collect that much cash.
But I AM desirous of selling immediately, cash payment, if same can be accomplished.
Since Friend Demuth will never go to Florida it is highly improbable that I will wither, so would ask "you to dispose of Lot 27 as soon as convenient to you. This is no less disappointing to me as it is to you, but Demuth and I have so much in common that his final decision NOT to locate in Florida leaves one course open to me to sell. 1
I hope you can arrange to dispose of it soon.

My dear Will:
Your recent letter was evidently written in the belief that I was in Washington. Have not teen there since fall, andH Helm has been handling the c.b. settlement at that end, so I have no information excepting through him, and was not able to tell you what you wanted to know.
As you probably know ere this, an award has been made / to Mr. Horton for rent and clearing of the Fruiterest land / used for beans. I trust that you and he have been able to f arrive at a satisfactory adjustment of the account, and that
the c.b. money will enable you to carry out your plans and i make the success you wafft to make of the Fruitcrest experiment.
* Am interested in the dasheens. So far, have never
found' any that I relished as food, but am told* there are many varieties. If you have found a good edible variety, wish you
/Would send me a few bulbs for planting at Homestead, where I have just made a disastrous failure of an attempt to grow and sell a crop of cabbage.
Find enclosed a pamphlet which may be new and interest ing to ycu. I have just accepted the temporary state secretaryship cf the committee of 48, and would be very glad if you can enroll some members and get an organization for the new party in your vicinity. It looks as if the war and the Russian business had made the Socialist party ineffective in this country for years to come, and it is my belief tha,* the proposed program of the new party, which is to hold a convention in July, and looks towards an amalgamation of some kind with the American Labor party and the Farmers* Ron Partizan League, may be the way out politically for which we have been hunting.
Very truly,
