routine with its eternal sameness and slow promotion. I am offering
Everglades lands to you because I BELIEVE IN IT, because I BZLIBVE
that, while it is now selling at $50, $60, and $80 an acre in ten-
sore tracts on easy monthly payments, it will be but a short time
until it will be worth $500 an acre. The reputation of the great
State of Florida and that State's great resources are behind the
drainage of the Everglades -- when drained they will be the GARDEN
SPOT OF THE WORLD and famous the world over, and those fortunate
enough to buy now, while the price is, comparatively speaking, on
the ground floor, will, indeed, take pride in their foresight and
judgment. The national -- I might almost say international --
reputation of one of the greatest drainage engineers is behind this
great reclamation project. Please investigate it. Above ALL things
get some of it NOW and reap the benefit of near-future values. In
my opinion, you cannot invest your money to better advantage anywhere
else in the country.

If you cannot work the land yourself, we can show you how it
can be worked for you.

Make up a party, go down to the Everglades and see this won-
derful country for yourself. Excursions run out of Washington twice
a month. You will return glad you went, glad you bought.

Come to one 3f our stereoptioon lectures -- notice enclosed.
Make up a party among your friends and spend a pleasant, highly
profitable evening as our guests. Come and see our soil exhibits,
tropical fruits and plants -- take a sample of our soil exhibit
away with you, have it analysed and prove to your own satisfaction
just what it is and will do. We show you this wonderful country with
the aid of magnificently colored slides, some of which were made
from photographs taken ,by an employee in the Government Printing
Office. All these things will convince you that HERE is your op-
portunity -- the one you have been'looking for.

Ladies are particularly welcome at our lectures. We can refer
them to one of their number in the Forest Service, who returned from
a visit to the Everglades enthusiastic over her purchase of twenty
acres. She is urging her friends to buy.

We can help you to pay for your land -- come and let us explain
how.we can do this.

Don't throw this letter and literature into the waste paper
basket. Please read it carefully, then pass it along by so doing,
you will not only aooommodate us, but your friends still more.

Come and see us at your lunch hour, or on your way home from
the office. We are centrally located, on the ground floor. Our
address is 809 G Street, N. W., -- Ouray Building, opposite the
Patent Office -- our 'phone number is Main 4360. We shall always be
glad to see you and explain things to you, whether you buy or not.

Los Angeles,Calif.
January 4th 1920.

Dear Professor Will:-

I am writing you after waiting another year
for yiu to to do something in regard to paying
off the note which I hold against you.

I purchased a h.ae here about six months age,
and the final payments become due very soon, now
dear friend,I want you to help me meet those pay-
ments, even theAit would be a small amount,it would
be a beginning and I know you do not begin things
that you do not finish.I hope you do not prolong
this matter, year to year, thinking that in the end
II will forAljse and take the land, because it would '
mean nothing to me to have the land in Florida,
please do try to make some arrangements in turning
over that land so that you can pay me at least in
partwhich will be so great a help to-me.

In going over my papers at the vault recently I
read ever your note and see where you claim the right
to make payments in installments, and since you have
nevet mentioned anything in regard to these payments
I have a feeling that you expect me to take the land,
this I do not want to d6,how dear friend, please do not
treat me-th-at'way, because I could do nothing in the
world with the land.I know your ability to promote
and do things when you want to,and I know what a dynamo
you really are in this regard, and I want you to put
your shoulder to the wheel and get my money out of
the land in a deal or trade.

I am frankly telling you my true feelings in re-
to this matter, because you may think it was optional L
with me in having the land and that I might want the
land as a speculation for the days to come.If I was
.well to do,and was a younger woman and in better health,
I would certainly be glad to have a little tract of
land in the Everglades for I believe in its promoter
and his plans.

I have not been able to go to San Diego since I
heard from you last am hoping to go down this summer
for I have an aunt from the esat visiting us who is
going to San Diego on her return from San Francisco,
and I intend to accompany her and when I get there I
should like to call on your daughter,if she is still
there.I would like you to give me her present address.

We spent rather a lonesome Christmas as we always
have since Christian has gone.Still the way things are

I cannot wish him back. There is much I would like to
say to you regarding things as they are,how I wish
we could have a good long visit-and I am wondering
if you will ever come to California.

I will close hoping to hear from you very soon,
with all good wishes from mother and I to you- and
yours,I am.

Very Sincerely,

121 East Avenue 49.

from photographs taken by an employee in the Government Printing
Office. All'these things will convince you that HERE isnyour op-

Ladies are particularly weloome at our lectures. We can refer
them to one of their number in the Forest Service, who returned from
a visit to the Everglades enthusiastic over her purchase of twenty
acres. She is urging her friends to buy.

We can help you to pay for your land -- come and let us explain
how we can do. this.

you will not only accommodate us, but your friends still more.

that, while it is now selling at $50, $60, and $80 an aore in ten-

get some of it NOW and reap the benefit of near-future values. In

else in the country.

If you cannot work the land yourself, we can show you how it
can be worked for you.

routine with its eternal sameness and slow promotion. I a3 offering
Everglades lands to you because I BELIEVE IN IT, because I BSLIEVE
that, while it is now selling at $50, $60, and $80 an acre in ten-
nore tracts on easy monthly payments, it will be but a short time
until it will be worth $500 an acre. The reputation of the great
State of Florida and that State's great resources are behind the
drainage of the Everglades -- when drained they will be the GARDEN
SPOT OF THE WORLD and famous the world over, and those fortunate
enough to buy now, while the price is, comparatively speaking, on
the ground floor, will, indeed, take pride in their foresight and
judgment. The national -- I mitht almost say international --
reputation of one of the greatest drainage engineers is behind this
great reclamation.projeot.

Excursions run out of Washington twio e
a month. You will return glad you went, glad you bought.

Come to one of our stereoptioon lectures -- notice enclosed.
Make up a party among your friends and spend a pleasant, highly
.profitable evening as our guests. Come-and see our soil exhibits,
tropical fruits and plants -- take a sample of our soil exhibit
away with you, have it analysed and prove to your own satisfaction
just what it is and will do. We show you this wonderful country with
the aid of magnificently colored slides, some of which were made
from photographs taken by an employee in the Government Printing
Office.- All these things will convince you that HERE is your op-
portunity -- the one you have been looking for.

Ladies are particularly welcome at our lectures. We'oan refer
them to one of their number in the Forest Service, who returned from
a visit to the Everglades enthusiastic over her purohasd'of twenty
acres. She is urging her friends to buy.

We can help you to pay for your land -- oomd and let us explain
how we can do this.

Don't throw this letter and literature into the waste paper

Mr.Thomas E.Will,
Fort Lauderdale,Pla.

Dear Mr.Will:

To my great surprise I find that I have not

returned to you the check for ten ($10.00) dollars, which I made

out to you and mailed to Mr.Harris Fleming at Washington,D.C.,with

instructions for him to send same to yotu It seems, however, that

he returned the check to me requesting me to forward same to you

upon proper proof of claim according to our statutes.

I thought I had mailed this check to you,but find

it among the multitude of papers connected with Judge Fleming's

estate of which, as you know, I am Executor. I enclose said check

to you now requesting you to send me as Executor of the estate a

receipt showing payment of the ten dollars ($10.00) in full of

balance claimed on land in Florida, as per contract with W.B.Pleming,

deceased.
In my hurried search I fail to find proof of claim

which I recall was sworn to by you on a form sent you by Mr.Harria

Fleming, as I now recall it. If I fail to find same I will send you

a duplicate form of affidavit for you to sign proving up the balance

of ten dollars ($10.00) due you, as aforesaid.

Hoping to have your receipt for the enclosed cheek at

your earliest convenience, and asking you to pard delaiin the
matter, I am Yours sincerely,

routine with its eternal sameness and slow promotion. I am offering
Everglades lands to you because I BELIEVE IN IT, because I BELIEVE
that, while it is now selling at $50, $60, and $80 an acre in ten-
acre tracts on easy monthly payments, it will be but a abort time
until it will be worth $500 an acre. The reputation of the great
State of Florida and that State's great resources are behind the
drainage of the Everglades -- when drained theytill be the GARDEN
SPOT OF THE WORLD and famous the world over, and those fortunate
enough to buy now, while the price is, comparatively speaking, on
the ground floor, will,. indeed, take pride in their foresight and
judgment. The national -- I might almost say international --
reputation'of one of the greatest'drainage engineers is behind this
great reclamation project.

Excursions run out of Washington twice
a month. You will return glad you vent, glad you bought.

Come to one of our uiereoptloon leotares -- notice enclosed.
Make up a party among your friends and spend a pleasant, highly
profitable evening as our guests. Come and see our soil exhibits,
tropical fruits and plants -- take a sample of our soil exhibit
away with you, have it analysed and prove to your own satisfaction
just what it is and will do. We show you this wonderful country with
the aid of magnificently colored slides, some of which were made
from photographs taken by an employee in the Government Printing
Offloe. All these things will convince you that HERE is your op-
portunity -- the one you have been looking for.

Ladies are particularly welcome at our lectures. We can refer
them to one of their number in the Forest Service, who returned from
a visit to the Everglades enthusiastic over her purchase of twenty
aares. She is urging her friends to buy.

e- can help you to pay for your land -- come and let us explain
how we can do this.

Don't throw this letter and literature into the waste paper
basket. Please read it carefully, then pass it along by so doing,
you will not only accommodate us, but your friends still more.

Come and see us at your lunch hour, or on your way home from
the offices 'Wepare centrally located, on the ground floor. Our
address is 800 G Street, N. W., -- Ouray Building, opposite the
Patent Offiee -- our 'phone number is Main 4280. We shall always be
glad to see you and explain things to you, whether you buy or not.

Dr. Thomas E. Will,
Okeelanta, Fla.

Dear Dr. Will:

Enclosed herewith find my check for $18.00 covering the
final payment on tract #71. This cleans me up entirely, I believe.
Parlon me for not getting this to you sooner, but I really have not
been able to spare the money up to now.

In one of your letters you state that castor beans were
planted on one of my tracts and that the stalks are still standing.
I wonder what difference it will make when this land is ready for v
clearing to have these stalks and perhaps a rank growth of castor
beans on the land. Of course the stalks won't make any difference
but isn't there liable to be a rank growth of castor beans which
will be difficult to get rid of'

I was indeed pleased to read about the new sugar industry /
and I don't see why this shouldn't be a success. I hope you'll
write me occasionally as to how this develops. This and the livestock
industry certainly ought to boom that country, especially when the
fac ; is considered that farmers will be able to buy high grade stock
from the Loxahatchee Farms, which are not far from Okeelanta and right
on the main road.

Hoping to hear from you from time to time, I am,

Your titruly,

//

drainage of the Everglades -- when drained they will be the GARDEN
S._PM OF THE WORLD and famous the world over, and those fortunate
enough to buy now, while the price is, comparatively speaking, on
the ground floor, will, indeed, take pride in their foresight and

If you cannot work the land yourself,.we can show you how it
can be worked for you.

Make up a party, go down to the Everglades and see this won-
derful country for yourself. Excursions run out of Washington twice
a month. You will return glad you went, glad you bought.

Come to one 3f our stereoptioon lectures -- notice enclosed.
Make up a party among your friends and spend % pleasant, highly
profitable evening as our guests. Come and see our soil exhibits,
tropical fruits and plants -- take a sample of our soil exhibit
away with you, have it analysed and prove to your own satisfaction
just whaL it is and will do. We show you this wonderful country with
the aid of magnificently colored slides, some of which were made
from photographs taken by an employee in the Government Printing
Office. All these things will convince you that HERE is your op-
portunity -- the one you have been looking for.

Ladies are particularly welcome at our lectures. We can refer
them to one of their number in the Forest Service, who returned from
a visit to the Everglades enthusiastic over her purchase of twenty
acres. She is urging her friends to buy.

We can help you to pay for your land -- come and let us explain
how we can do this.

Don't throw this letter and literature into the waste paper
basket. Please read it oqrefully, then pass it along by so doing,
you will not only accommodate us, but your friends still more.

Come and see us at your lunch hour, or on your way home from
the office. We are centrally located, on the ground floor. Our
address is 809 G Street, N. W., -- Ouray Building, opposite the
Patent Office -- our 'phone number is Main 4260. We shall always be
glad to see you and explain things to you, whether you buy or not.
